Is that like how they measure how far a drive is in Texas in beer quantities? Like "its about a 6 pack drive"?

I certainly don't blame him for high tailin' it out of the US of A and back down under but I sure hope he chimes in like he has in the past. He's a valuable resource on here, he's been there and seen that. Hell, half the time he built it!

Hahaha no one and I mean no one down here drinks Fosters! They must have brewed 1 batch in the 70s and we are still trying to get rid of it overseas

They probably sell most of it at the Outback steak houses here.
But then we have a lot of guys here who Drink Coors lite or some other lite beer because they don't like the "Beer taste" of real beer.

Keith's last post on FB was in October when he was just getting ready to start working in a shop down there. His wife hadn't posted since about that time either. Lack of decent internet or to busy getting on with life down there.

My sister lives just a few blocks from their former home and I knew him (and the Mrs!) from his relationship to her husband, Monte Bailey, a drag racer at heart. I loved to pick Roo's brain on one thing or another hot rod and sports car wise (for as long as he'd tolerate my novice questions) and all those great racing stories he had.

Yeah I too noticed that he hasn’t been around. I’ve had a few conversations with him through pm’s. They guy sure knows a lot of stuff about a lot of stuff.

I’m sure he’d be warm and fuzzy to know you were asking about his well being. [emoji6]

I will say walking through Big’s museum with Keith was quite a treat. I have been to the museum many many times when I lived in Gainesville. But Keith’s knowledge of everything drag racing and fabrication made this particular trip memorable.

I met Keith on here, and in person at CHHR-2116. An absolute professional in all fields of car building, along with a vast knowledge of racing history. I miss our monthly phone conversations.

  15. All good here at the mo, thanks for asking, last week we had water bombers and sirens all around us but they do a great job nowadays, nervous time of year and the insurances are all up to date.

Going good thanks Bruce, still plugging along, hope all is well with you.

I just spoke to a good mate who’s good mates with Rooman, sounds like all is well.

I liked Tooheys. First bar we found in Sydney (visitors from the USS Ranger CV-61) had several lovely Toohey's "merchandisers" in short pleated dresses giving sailors free samples and, of all things, free Toohey's socks. I think they were styled for Aussie football fans. Regardless, it wasn't undrinkable.

What have we started here ...... the last time I saw a FORSTERS was 30+ years ago at an Anaheim CA pizza shop when the owner recognised our Aussie accent and offered us some. He didn't understand that we didn't drink the stuff so I had to describe its attributes to him with several choice 4 letter words.
PS: Just realised that I've been a TOOHEYS OLD drinker for ~50 years .... it's a lovely drop.

I used to be an Old drinker in my younger days but it never tasted very nice coming back up or out the nose. Might have to give it another go seeing as I'm older and wiser now:D.
I suppose we best get this thread back on track before we get a kick up the bum.

I had never heard of Tooheys until my engine machinist and his understudy were invited to Oz many years ago to assist/crew on a drag boat and he told me that crowd could really put away that stuff.
    Cheers!
