Anyone ever use this stuff? I've heard you can put some in the cylinders to free up a stuck engine.......any truth to that?

It works great for keeping air tools nice and oiled. Also has a nice smell to it too!

Yep ive unstuck about a half dozen engines with it. The mystery part is kerosene. In fact i run a half quart in my car with every oil change as well as a few ounces in a full tank of gas every now and then. the only thing i don't use it for is to get bolts loose. For that its none other than PB Blaster.

I have found Rust Eater (brown 'n yellow can) and JB-80 (black can) to actually work better than PB -blaster, FWIW

I, too, had positive results on a 59AB after it sat for 20+ years. I let it soak for 2 weeks before turning it over.

  11. This stuff works. I picked up a 1960 Chrysler that had been sitting for 21 years, I pulled the plugs out and shot some in the cylinders and let it sit for a few days and turned the motor over. It kicked over with no problem. I trust it.

I bought a 52 ford in the early 70s, Had a mason jar on the fire wall. It had a drip tube to the breather. The guy told me to keep it full of miracle oil and I would never have any problems. I sold the car to a friend so he could use the motor in his 42 coupe. When he broke the motor down the dang thing looked like it was driven by Aunt Bea.

while we're on the subject, I went to 3 different part stores to find KROIL which all of you guys swear by, and none of them ever heard of it. advanced discount auto, and 2 others,

I did read online that Napa carries it, but I didn't go there cause it was 25 miles away and i said, screw it, i'll just use more torch and pb blaster

Is Napa the only place that stocks it? if it's better than PB blaster, why doesn't anyone hardly carry it? mabye cause it's expensive?

I used MM oil in the 371 Olds that sat in my dad's barn for 30+ years. It did the trick.

I freed up a 59a that hadn't run in 29 years. It was stuck tight. Pulled the plugs, filled with MMO and let it sit for a week. Filled again after it drained past the rings, pulled the starter and used a long pry bar to try and wiggle the flywheel back and forth. Once it started to move a little, stopped, filled it up again and let it sit. Each time got a little more movement, fill and sit. It took a while but 7out of 8 cyls. had 95psi or better. Patience is the key.

One more hint...before you start it, pull the exhaust off the car, I had about a quart of MMO in the cross over pipe that had drained through the exhaust ports. Not sure what would have happened if it fired up with that still in there...

It works. I used it to free up a stuck '68 Porsche motor, and a year ago I dumped a quart in the transmission of my S-10, that leaked a quart every two days. I haven't put trans fluid in it since.

that is great stuff. When was a kid I emptied the reservoir of the windshield wash and put a can of Marvel Mystery Oil in it and then I put the hose down the throat of the carb. then I would drive down the street, and turn on the wash switch .......................... talk about smoke, I never saw so much smoke come out of a tail pipe ***[IMG]

  20. You'll find Kroil more readily at firearm & gun supply places, like Brownells, etc...

  21. Marvel must have peppermint in it. I like the smell.

Where do you find PB Blaster?

Around here all the auto parts stores carry it, as does Wal-Mart.

Well, we'll see. Put some in each cylinder last night. I'll go play with it a while this afternoon.

I have used it for over 40 years and atest to the fact that it works. Have used it to free up several stuck motors, free stuck rings, to quiet noisey lifters, clean sludge out of running engines, and use it in my air tools. Patience, let soak in the engine cylinders, rotate and let it soak some more. It usually works

I used it in my VW motor, and it was the bomb! I work at Napa, I sell the hell out of it, and PB blaster too. My machine shop uses MMO as a coolant in their valve grinding machine. They swear by it, too. Use some in your next oil change too, keeps seals and gaskets from drying out so fast. Works good if you're storing a motor too. Just shoot some in the cylinders before you park it.

Kroil is pretty much factory direct...I've only seen one guy selling it other than the factory.

Works good...I like PB but like Kroil better....

With the Porsche motor I freed up, it took about two weeks. I never had any smoke or problems after.
