I am restoring a 1950 single spinner ford ute it had been sitting in a field for 20 years so more holes than metal. the plan is to fit a straight-six Aussie barra in it. It is missing the steering column and would like to know what length a replacement should be from the end of the shaft at the top to the floor? Cheers John
This is its first couple of days It is now sandblasted primed and in little pieces I have just completed most of the front end including a disk brake conversion but it has a very long way to go.
Would that steering column be like other shoebox (49-51) Ford's? I'm guessing a right hand drive column is different from the US version?
Yes, it is a right-hand drive car however this is in material as I am using an early Volvo power box I am just trying to find the length of the stock column from the wheel to the floor. Cheers
Welcome. Had to google Aussie Barra,( Ford Barramundi ) that,s funny. Looks like another plumbers ute will be saved
Hi John, welcome. What part of Oz ya from? Read the rules and you will be fine here, lots of knowledge. Don't mention the Barra too much......
