Yes, where else have you seen film of an Allison powered dragster in action! The announcer also refers to the "High and Mighty" Plymouth coupe as a "rat rod", this is in 1958. I thought that term came around later than that.
Just an observation, but if this was run in 1958, there were two 1959 Chevy's going down the drag strip against each other. Still a cool film!

My guess was that it was late in 58 and the 59's were already out. This was not a bracket race as everybody was racing with a cl*** so it would make sense that they were racing brand new cars. Many of these were hi tech for the day.
