I bought this at a swap meet for 2 bucks a few years back and gave it to my friend Jeff for his A roadster and nobody we know, knows exactly what it is. It does have old script Stewert Warner gauges in it with br*** trim and aluminun insert. What the heck is it from?

My initial thought was something British, but you said it had SW gages in it... Regardless, definitely cool...

Whatever it was...it was probably a high dollar car like a Packard, Pierce Arrow etc. etc.

  9. I'll ask my wifes uncle. He is old and really knows cars.

I dont think its Packard, Cadillac or lincoln because i've looked at a bunch, but whatever it is I really like it. I've been looking on ebay since I started the roadster build 4 years ago for a cool insert, and never saw anything like that. I bet its something high end like a Duesenberg or Pierce Arrow?
    Someone must know?

    That's a nice piece.

Whatever it's from, its styling suggests that it was made in the late '20s, and no later than the early '30s.

  15. Looks to me like 31-32 Plymouth. I used one in an 'A' a few years ago...

I'm pretty sure it is 1930/31 Chrysler CG. These cars where partially custom bodied so each body style the dash was a bit different but the holes where for the instruments where always the same size and shape.

Here is a picture of a later one.

  18. Don,t know if this helps but my unknown dash has pretty much the same sort of fancy scrolls. Strange thing is it,s in kilometers but all the gauges are labelled in English. So if it,s from a USA manufacturer they probably exported to Europe. That does,nt really narrow it down much does it !!

K-member - I've got the exact same guage package, i found it in an old barn about 3 years ago. It also has S-W guages in it. I'm saving it for my next project. The guage holes are fairly small on my, I would probably have to enlargen them when i get around to using them. Everyone that I checked with said some late '20's or early '30's high end car.Greg:cool:

It just blows me away that somebody can post something as rare as this and the answer comes up in such a short time. What a group!
