Hi Fellows, I bought a chopped 36 3w from Long Island, NY in 2001. I sold it in June of 2008 to Ray English in CA. The son of the fellow I bought it from is trying to locate the car to see if might be available for sale as he wants to give it back to his Dad. The most distinguishing modification to the car, besides a good chop, is it has a louvered deck lid. The hood is louvered, too. Anyway, if anybody knows of the car or how the owner might be contacted; please let me know and I'll pass it along to the son. These are pictures of the car when sold. It had a very nice chrome grille, too. Thanks for your help, Al
Cool car. How old was Ray English ? I have a page, I'll DM you .. which means nothing. You likely found the same, I did.
Wish you all the luck in the world, I would think the car has undergone a rebuild bu now and probably a different color. HRP
That had to be a hard one to let go, Al. Hope you can locate it for the young man. Great looking, '36 by the way.........Don.
The good news is I found some old paperwork that says Ray lived in Alameda when I sold it. Sorry I don't know the details on the chop but I readily agree it was a good one. Don, they are all hard for me to let go of!! I was very fond of the chopped one but also had a chopped AND SHORTENED 39 chevy coupe that is extraordinary and after awhile; with garage space becoming more and more precious, I let it go. I really liked the car; especially with 40 chev headlights... y'all might have seen it in a small picture on one of the issues of Street Rod Builder long ago. So many cars... so little time!! Thanks, Kid, for your excellent help via PM. There can't be but so many louvered deck lids on 36 Fords!! Who has seen one? Show us some pics and we can start taking notes. Thanks for the continued help. Al With the 40chev headlights... what was I thinking?!?!?!
BTW, the trunk looks like it opens as a rumble seat but I converted it to open as a true trunk using an electric powered arm... and a pan to catch the water and drain it outside of the car!
