El I will withhold comment on that 40 Willys, only to say that in 58 years of being involved in Willys race cars and hot rods I never seen one like that.

  11. As I recall it had something to do with his father, it had sat for many years on their farm, the kid wanted to get it running and the father wasn't interested in even talking about it. Story is on this site somewhere. Injected Olds maybe?

Found it. Post title '40 willys project', posters name ALLSTEELWILLYS. Car is from Texas. Thread started in 2011.

If I recall, later on Burgin had a green 33 Willys coupe. If the same Burgin it was a real nice car.

    Hey Guys

Let me thrown in another name to the confusion. Gary Burgin had a Willys Coupe he campaigned in So Cal along with Dave Braskett of the Braskett Corwin Willys Coupe from 1963-64.
In 1964, Dave Braskett had a different Willys coupe.

When the gas coupes were finally gone, Gary Burgin made his fame in the funny car era.

    Jnaki

“Burgin began his racing career in 1963, helping Dave Braskett campaign an A/GS Willys. After Braskett crashed the car at Irwindale Raceway in 1966, Burgin took over the driver’s seat and later got his own A/GS roadster, also supercharged. “I wanted to go fast right away, so I never messed around with carburetors or fuel injection,” he said.

By the end of the 1960s, it was clear that Funny Cars were the next big thing, and he reunited with Braskett on first a Camaro and then a Vega that not only became a fixture on the Southern California scene, but also set the national record at 6.72 at Lions Drag Strip’s 1972 Grand Premiere

That is some interesting information. I have no idea which car it might be but the second picture of the green car looks like it is taken out west judging be the scenery and the mountains in the background. It’s tough because there isn’t a lot of information on these cars and a lot of the people that were involved with them are no longer with us.
