Technical 1955 Cadillac Floor = Tri-5 Floor?

Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by billandlori, Jan 16, 2021.

  1. Hey guys, after many years, I am starting to build my 55 Cadillac Series 62.

The floors are shot, as are the inner and outer rockers and some of the floor braces.

I have been sourcing floors and rockers and was looking at the tri-5 full floor replacements. Everything would be done except for the outer rockers. What I am wondering is if the width and body brace spacing would be the same? I know its a long shot but it sure would same a lot of time!!!

Thanks in advance for the help!

    Bill

  2. No they are not the same, might be similar, but defiantly not the same.
Someone who knows more then I do will chime in with specifics on the differences

I have absolutely no specific knowledge in this area, other than vague ponderings and having owned a 57 Chevy, and having driven a 57 Cadillac, the Caddy I remember feeling wider. Maybe you could use the 55-57 Chevy floors as a place to start and modify from there.

  4. This is kind of what I was thinking. The shapes of the braces look very similar. If I had to move them it wouldn't be a big deal, fabricating them is lol!!
