... big time... I always wanted to go there and visit the museum on our trips to northern Italy, it´s just a less than 3 hrs drive from here. I´ve seen some photos showing a few Harleys and Indians unharmed out in the snow, so I guess they were able to safe a few bikes from the fire. A shame none the less...

That wood floor and ceiling probably made that a hot blaze. What a shame. A lot of history lost.

 

No Fire Extinguishing/Suppression System for a Facility like that?????

That is terrible!! Even the night security camera video was most likely destroyed.

 

Mental Note * don't build museum from timber

 

Britain's National Motorcycle Museum burned in 2003, destroying 380 bikes. It didn't have a sprinkler system either. After a m***ive effort 150 bikes were restored. It has a sprinkler system now.
