This picture, of the bus on its side, reminds me of a time when my brother and I took my father's "go to work" car, 1952 Caddy and we rolled it, just like the bus in the picture. As we were looking at it along with the State Police, my brother says to me, "see I told you that Dad's Caddy had 4 mufflers". At that point, the State Trooper said to us, "I think that you boys have more to worry about than the numbers of mufflers on your dad's car, why don't both of you just get in the back seat of my car".

This boat was built in Fresno, CA at Belmont Custom Boats, in the early 1960's. Although these all wood boats were usually equipped with American V-8 engines (Cadillac, Lincoln, Chrysler, etc.) this was the only one powered by an Allison V-12. The photo was taken at a boat drag race in the lake situated next to the old Fremont Drag Strip in the CA Bay area...
Don Edmunds owner of Auto Research built midget and sprint cars, and was a race car driver. He started racing jalopys on So.Cal tracks in the early 50's, and ending up with being rookie of the year at the Indianapolis 500. That year was 1957. Don was also prolific at building scale model race cars and collected tether cars. I met Don in 1980 at the Sabbitini tether car swap meet in Fresno, CA. I was new in the hobby and he was very congenial when I would call him at his home in Oregon. He would talk long periods of time sharing stories and anecdotes about his cars. Don passed away in 2020 at age 89 and is missed. Ron
That is the Reading PA Fairgrounds in the '50s. I was probably there that day. All the kids would jump over that fence after the race to see the cars and drivers, me included.
