We have been using the UV set fibergl*** resin and it has saved a lot with then no waste from set up resin. There is a drawback if you get a long stretch of no or very low UV days. We had a week of very rare, for Texas, of completely cloud covered days and it allowed the solvent in the resin to work it's way through the gel coat and wax mold release. Will have to do major mold repair before next bodies. Affected area on 32 Roadster body: 34 3w has several areas that resin is white from gel coat or cream colored from wax:
I’m not sure if it would help, but I use unfiltered UV bulbs to cure emulsion for screen printing. The ones I used are 48inch t12 and fit in any standard t12 fixture. It might be worthwhile to build a portable fixture to speed up cure times Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know nothing about your process, but I would have thought you would have used lights to cure it. That way you have a repeatable process. Using natural lighting would create uneven and unpredictable results. Just a thought from someone that knows nothing.
