auction scores or v-job first? valve job it is, my grandpa has had a pretty nice 37 ford 4door humpback for quite a while (like 20 years at least and then some) and fianlly hes getting around to fixing it up, hes been into fixing and working on cars for years and use to work in a body shop a long time ago (he still uses lead if that tells you when he did body work) so hes been straitening out his fenders and doors bit by bit and working on some mechanicals at the same time, a while back he had brought the valves from the old flatty down to work and we ground the valves and found a few bent, replaced them etc etc, fast forward to friday night i finally have time to make it up to brainered mn where he lives to help him grind the seats (it only took some knowledge of an acution to get me off my but!) so i got the equipment from work and we headed up there to do so, ended up not getting there till 11:00 or so at night, so we checked it out and made sure we had all the right tools to get the job done, we ended up having to remove the fender and starter solenoid and then we were able to gain access to all the seats, by then we were tired and decided to hit the sack considering there was an acution we were gonna make it to the next morning. so onto the auction, we seen the sale bill and there were a few that sparked some interest, some A's and T's but that was about it. we made it there and checked everything out and spotted some other treasures here and there, so after waiting to get past all the junk (or at least the stuff im not interested in!) we made it to the T sedan, i bid and one it for $200, i thought alright, this is good, then we carried on to the 2 A coupes, i bid on the fisrt one and got it for $400, its not a bad car, but needs rear quarters and a door. went on to the next one and bid on that one and got it for $925, that body is better in areas but worst in others, but still a fixable car, all i really need is a p***enger side roof section above the door and quarter window (he he so if anybodys got one they want to get rid of lmk!) and doors and some small stuff, after that i spent all the money i had and figured i didnt need anymore. thats all i bought but Jen spotted a pair of nailhead plug wire covers and got those of the pile for $5 each choice, so $10 bucks and we were happy. my dad bought a 37 p/u frame and a 35 ford car frame, and he also bought a 40 pedal ***embley, 3 ford carbs and a few other misc stuff, my garndpa bought a generator for his 37 and a few other trinkets and bobbles. a couple of things i missed were a switch pitch th400 buick nailhead ****** for $7.50 and a 39 ****** for $30 a B 4cyl that i didnt catch how much it went for and a few other tid bits, heres some pics. ***us
also made it over to Jen's dad's house to pick up my T sedan that i got from him a while back, probably the nicest ive ever had! but thats not saying much!
I think you just may own the coolest **** in the world, always pickin up cool stuff. Looks like a good day. Congrats on the finds. Mootz
jesus christ ***us...when you said T sedan I was thinking body...not the entire ****ing car...you lucky *******...hahaha...good scores man, I wish I had room for all that stuff...I knew I should have saved up some money to head up there, but I was too busy fabbing up shop equipment so I can finally get some work done around here on the '40...shoot me a PM sometime, got some questions to ask you about dropped axles and those hemi heads I need rebuilt...
come on ***us...let me chop the T...or at least throw a T party...hahaha...god dammit I want to cut that thing apart so bad...it's just begging for it...
the green T in the secon pics is another one, if you look closely at the pick of the truck youll see another T sedan back there, thats the $200 one, the other one i got from my girlfriend Jennie's dad on trade for a 29 p/u. update on the coupes, i picked up a roof peice thats gonna fix the one so all i really need is a driver side quarter panel, or inside edge where the trunk lid would fit againts. ***us
