I think this one goes without saying and even though I have a different thread dealing with artwork and the same iconic imagery... Ed "Newt" Newton and his work deserve a very own thread of appreeciation. Thanks Newt! Here's just a place for everything Ed Newton. Incase you are unfamiliar with Newt I can give a real quick glimpse into what kind of impact he has made on all of us. He was essentially a competitor of Roth's, airbrushing shirts in the early 60's but quickly joined forces with Roth Studios. There he would illustrate and create some of the most iconic images known to man. His ability to use both positive and negative space makes for a bold black and white rendering that is unmistakably his own. A mix of realism and stylized cartoon effects can be found present and even though Roth Studios came to a close in 1970, Newton went on to explore and conquer even more than just the automotive world. Thanks Tom Davison for the photo!
I am also a big fan of Ed Newton. This is actually a puzzle that I framed and hung up on the wall in my shop. While I have you here, see if you can find the caps lock button on your keyboard, and turn that sucker off. -Abone.
That is an awesome rendering by Newton! Thanks for sharing! I always enjoy finding new works of his that I haven't seen yet because it's kinda hard to come across. Is this yours?
Capton Pepe's Zepplin Repair is always caught me examining with extra Scrutiny! I believe this Image to be from the 60s? I was just a young boy at that time. Still a fan at 71 years old.
