Has anyone used a string of LED's to encircle the stock tail light inside the lens? Or, what LED's can be used? Thanks.
A flasher change isn't required as long as you leave the front turn signals with incandescent bulbs. These are the led bulbs I went with. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MY4T4BU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_xtmeGbD1BH5RQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I just used led bulbs from Amazon and they are super bright and don't show individual leds as they work like a regular bulb. I actually put them in my Galaxie because my 56 isn't finished. Make sure and buy red led's as the white is so bright it will bleach out some lenses and they look orange.
No reason u can't run a LED ribbon in a circle, cross, or whatever. Just make sure visibilty from rear meets local laws and common sense. Use Red LEDs. White LEDs show every flaw and crack in Lens, gasket, etc. I've seen sequential leds (from center out, kida like a flower/firework) on a Thunderbird site for ~$500
I've got the same bulbs on all four corners on my 56, white in front and red in back. I had to switch to an LED flasher to make them work right. I don't remember which flasher I used but I got it from Amazon.
I used the United Pacific flashers - 90650 and also had to get the adapters which reverses the polarity to make it work with my aftermarket fuse panel. I have emergency flashers installed in mine as well so I needed two flashers. Otherwise you only need one.
