I like your car, but a simple question. You say that it has an Isky 1007B cam...but Howard's got the lettering? Sounds like the cam wars all over again.

Yes you are correct, the Howard cam will go in the next engine that i'm building aside.

Love your other builds and YT vids. Your black roadster is one of the best IMHO, and if one day I’m fortunate enough to get one, it will be based on yours.

Greetings CheatersPete!! ....SWEET CAR!!... I would like to see more pics. Of the cylinder heads...and story on them....and what happened to the rest of the " moredoor " body??...and was that a model "B" engine in the original chassis??

Cylinder heads have been Offenhauser modified... heads were trashed, decided to copy the idea of the cheater Heads that were made in the past with a zest of performance

The more door was cut in 3 parts and parts were used to repair a 5w 1932.
The engine was original but the transmission wasn't, it was converted earlier...

As a veteran sign painter, I spent my career doing it, learned with a brush, before computers came on the scene on the early 80's, they decimated the old school sign painters, vinyl took over and now digital images proliferate. In my opinion it's almost impossible to find a true old school sign painter, who has his own style, will sketch out an original design by hand and execute it on the car. Today most sign shops use fonts that may resemble hand lettering but again in my opinion they nice but are a lacking the individuality of a real sign painter.
Owning a sign shop, I went over to the dark side (Vinyl) for reasons of being able to compete with the declining prices for signs to to franchise sign shops that entered the market with people who had no skills in creating letter forms, color or design skills. That said I never lost my hand lettering skills and I'm not dependent on upgrades to sign programs. I'm stepping down from the soap box now. Good luck with your car.
The Eddie Myer car is a good example of hand painting skill.
