Now to narrow that done... Is anyone with a Hot-rod 235 six going to the drags in Temple in October. I'm trying to decide to stay with the six and hot rod it up or follow the crowd and drop a SBC in my 54.
Temple Academy/ Little River is the same track. Times for street driven cars will range, probably, from 11's on up to 25+. And everywhere in between. Bring the 235 out and have some fun. Just know that theres a real good chance that you'll get hooked and come back next year with a V8. And the next year with a V8 with a little cam. And the next year with new heads. And the next with some steeper gears. And the next with a blown big block, roll caged, stripped down hot rod with the fenders cut up to fit the slicks!
Now that the CHRR in bakersfield is over-run with golf carts and strollers (same weekend), it would probably be more fun hanging out with people who can still walk. You need to have a swap meet.
Swap meet would be great, but it would require work and organization on our part. The Roundup is a bunch or work for a while for a few guys and a bunch of work for the rest of the club Roundup weekend. It's worth it, but we don't really get to enjoy it like those just coming to the show. The drags is low key and way fun for us. We can pretty much drive out there and enjoy it like the rest of ya'll. A swap meet, or any extra stuff, would require us to do something other than race our cars. This event is about having fun running your car down the track. Fast, slow or in between. Besides, there's plenty of good swaps.
Robert assures me it will be ready for the drags! car recently acquired after 25 years! word has it that it was onced a drag car out of fort worth.
