Cheeper to build or buy a complete rolling 31 ch***is? And who the best for the price? I live in MT so midwest and westcoast would be the best..
Multifactorial; skillset, timeframe, tools, workspace, budget etc. It's been said before but have a plan and budget and stick to it however allow for contingencies. A rolling frame will get you into the build quicker than building it yourself and sourcing the necessary parts not to mention the time saved. All the hard work has been done,. brakes, steering, suspension. Possible that you could have it set up to suit your planned drivetrain as well, engine and transmission. While the frame is being built you could source other required components? Others I know have gone down this road and never looked back however I've always built my frames. Others will chime in.
Depends on your skill set, tools available, space available and time ! time is the big one. Everything else can be bought etc. Do the math to build it yourself with everything you need then add 50% to that . a complete rolling frame while a big outlay up front will get you way further ahead, and possibly cost you much less on the long run. Do the math !
Well welding is out of my skill set. Everything else willing to learn. Tools i am an aircraft mechanic by trade so have most covered. Time i figured 5 yrs to complete the 31 slant windshield. All i have is a body. So headed to a resto mod with a v6. I can hear the screaming now lol.

depends on if you want a high tech street rod, or an old school hot rod. old school would only need a stock frame with mostly bolt on hotrod stuff. a fancy ch***is is gonna cost a lot more. isnt there a rod shop in Boseman? how about the guy in Rapid City? cornhusker in Nebraska? Dusty in Rifle Colo. ?
