Yes it is. Not much for frequent spirited driving though.

Have one in a O/T Jeep. It requires slow, well sequenced shifts. I would not put one in anything that I might want to go through the gears in a hurry.

  8. Different companies different trannies .

played with getrags when I worked at Jaguar in the early s-types (2000-04 ) you could beat on them like a mule and they would shift like a knife through ****er.

the new process gearvteansmissions I know the dodge (lol) and jeep ******s are build like pudding. The ones built for gm etc seem better

    Two different companies.

    I had a 94 S10 4.3 and an 03 Silverado 4.8 with the NV35000
. They could be shifted reasonably fast , first gear was low but the 2 through 5th were spaced ok. The AX15 offered in Jeeps from the early 90's to 1990 is a better trans but most are 4x4 versions. The Madza built 5 speed from 2000's Ford Ranger 4.0 seem like possible choice also. Depending on what it's going into, bellhousing adapters will be needed.
The Getrags used in early 90,s Chevy trucks had reputation for reliability issues and expensive repairs
