I've done a search for upper and lower radiator hoses for a 302 and see a 68/69 mustang hoses may fit. Wondering if anyone actually knows the part numbers for hoses that fit a original style radiator, thanks.

if you have a napa or other auto parts store near you.see what they have that will work.up here when I needed ones that were not specific to what I needed I found buying a couple that were close to what I needed then returning the others I never encountered a problem with returning the ones that would not work.some I would use the radius turns then trim and use a piece of exhaust pipe of the proper size and join them I have also used copper pipe if it fit the inside of hoses.

What '54 Vicky said. It may help to use some coat hanger wire to make a mock up you can bring to the store. If you're lucky they may let you go to the back room to brouse where they'll have hundereds to look at.

Depends on if your radiator has a lower hose on the p***enger side or drivers side, the early short water pumps on 289 and 302's were p***enger side this gives better fan clearance than the 1970 and later long pump 302/5.0's.

another problem can arise when rad outlet-inlet are different sizes.depending on how big the difference I have used the size hose that fits the smaller one and at times trim enough to fit length of outlet-inlet and then slip hose over double clamp I have also used a bicycle tube to do same .others when using copper pipe I have soldered a sleeve of fitting of inside diameter giving you a larger piece.I have done same with exhaust tubing.using acid core solder.there are others that after 50 years of having to make something that there is no part made.I follow the old saying form follows function.another that necessity is the mother of invention I think mother was a true car person.what fun would life be without a challenge?

Seems it's the same answer most of the time. I went thru the trail and error search when hunting hoses
for the 239 that came in the car. Of course they don't work now since I've installed my explorer engine and trans in the car. I was hoping to benefit from another person build, which may have not worked for me, but it would have been a place to start.

These hoses fit perfectly with some t*******. Dayco 71993 for upper hose must be trimmed on both ends. Master Pro 21721 for lower hose must be trimmed on pump side, this is for a radiator with 2" outlet on the bottom driver side.

From what I found, the Master Pro 21721 is an upper hose. (Dayco equivalent 71556). Did you just use an upper hose for the bottom?

These pictures might help someone to actually see what they look like and if they'll fit their car

i usually cut some hose stubs that fit the radiator and engine then use some old exhaust bends to fill in the gap to the shape i need then go to my local part supplier and they let me go into there " hose room" and match something to my "template"...no problem

I see you put time in this but the inlet sizes are as important as shape.sometimes the rad and engine sizes are not the same. the lengths are another needed bit of info

Most lower hoses are 1.75" at the water pump but over the years many have used the early Mustang radiators with the early short water pump to gain clearance with 302 swaps at the radiator these are 1.5" as noted on Page 1 of the "Sticky FAQ" Here is a link to what I wrote many moons ago ;) https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/sbf-short-water-pump-pulleys.303600/
When doing an SBF swap in a 52-56 the clearance issue is more critical if the car had a y-block or flat head than if it had a Six that had the radiator mounted more forward this was from the lower sheet metal. (see the difference in the lower right of this illustration) 54 fender.png

just go to an exhaust shop and get them to make a short piece of pipe of the smaller size of the radiator/engine and expand the other end to the bigger size....preferably in stainless ..easy
