I’m in the middle of rebuilding my carb and unsure about something. Is this ball supposed to be there? The other side is clear.

    A bit more information would have been helpful (like the carburetor identification number!).

    It appears that may be the vacuum passage which would provide vacuum for the automatic choke housing on a carburetor with automatic choke. If so, it would have been plugged on a carburetor with manual choke.

    Sorry, didn’t /don’t have the carb on hand. It does have a manual choke, so seems your on the right track. Thanks again.
