While Speedway Motors & others offer an extended fibergl*** cab, I'm really somewhat surprised that United Pacific hasn't jumped on the market with an extended roof cap, floor extension, & extended back panel for those wanting a tad bit more room in a real steel deal. Since these are individual body panels the area from the 'B' pillar to the original back panel could be an ad in piece without the need for a complete new back panel stamping & possibly even provide an optional quarter window as the gl*** version currently offers....are you listening U.P.I. ???? give me some idea credit on body panel kit #1
Being 6’3 and and a big MF chopping the trucks just make it uncomfortable for anything more then a hour. It’s not only the height is also the angle of your foot /ankle working the pedals. Drive it scrunched down all day and see what I am talking about. Now I am not saying a hotrod is supposed to be comfortable and do enjoy the hard ride ,loud pipes and the smell of great fuel is just awesome! I had a 1929 truck and have always loved the Keith Weesner 29 cab that was chopped hard. I bought one and chopped it 10 inches so 4 inch windows or so. It was wicked cool to look at ,yeah not going to work for me.. I guess it depends on how tall you are..
2 and 1/4" on this one (page 17 from the post HRP referred to inked to on 32-34-pickup-pics). Note I am short at 5' 5" so I fit in it easily It was supposed to be 2" buy I ****ed it up and had to take another 1/4 out to even the cuts and bends. Rear window size is stock. If interested here is a link to my HAMB post on how I did the chop https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/32-34-pickup-pics.2405/page-19#post-8355617
See how @acme30 truck just looks “right” the chop isn’t the first thing you see , a sneaky chop completes the whole image.
