Hot Rods Any body building a model A based speedster?

I have a complete running Model A with no body, I plan to build a Speedster. Is anybody else working on one or have one finished? Lets see some pics. thanks

Here's a couple pictures of one that a friend had a few years ago. Hope this helps. I understand most large stores such as Western Auto, Montgomery Wards all had their own versions.

 

That's a Rootleib speedster body kit in post #4. I built one of those back in the early 80's and it was a genuine fun car.

 

Here's mine. Coachwork is mostly aftermarket Mercury Body built for '20s Model T/Chevy (with notable exception of the LaSalle hood). But running gear is all A.



Model A running gear makes it considerably more drivable than a T, in my opinion. But the trick is coming up with an elegant way of dealing with the A's wide frame at the rear. You need to pinch it or conceal it.

 

denis4x4, I wasn't sure of the make, Thanks for sharing! When she (that's right, SHE) bought the speedster, she asked me to meet her there, drive it and give her my opinion... Mike Nichols had it for sale, I believe he may have rebuilt it. It was a blast to drive.

Northwest Vintage speedsters has a bunch of Model A based speedsters . Northwest Vintage Speedsters (nwvs.org) I've studied the photos in their gallery a lot for ideas for my boat tail roadster that i am working on. I'm thinking that Clark H is in that group.

 

Here's one that a friend has under construction. Oliver tractor nose. The rest of the sheet metal is hand formed aluminum. All Model A running gear. Engine is currently being built. The hope is that it will reach 100 mph on a very long straightaway.
