I almost always see this post and have nothing to report... [IMG]

But this weekend it was warm, I was about over my cold and I worked in the gargage. I put a new MSD small HEI distributor in the 40 Ford coupe. It was a good improvement. Starts a good bit easier, runs better and looks ole timey.

Also put my new rechromed original 40 Ford bumper on the rear. I had to replace the good BENT UP one after I was rearended by the 'cell phone talking pickup driver' with a poor original till I could get a nice one redone.

Washed and scrubed the ole 40 up good. I put a set of Hunley Acuff revucanized running boards on and they needed a good cleaning. MR. Acuff molds the running board covers back onto your original boards.....he will not do repros...

Getting ready for Myrtle Beach .........in a few weeks....

  3. I did pinion bearings and carrier bearings in my daily, Setting up a used ring & pinion is always a little dicey, but it has a minimum of howl, so I'm happy. The gearset had 175,000 miles on it, but it looked surprisingly good for 40+ years old......

  6. DammitDave and a coup;e of his buddys came down to Omaha from Sioux City, Iowa to purchase a couple old Ford wheels from me. We got to spend a little time together and gave em the grand tour of my teeny garage and my 41 Poncho. They were amused by my black primered Porsche winter beater with gennie Grimlock pinstriping.....was fun.

  8. I had a pretty productive weekend. The wife helped me on the 33 for the second time! We finished breaking down the axle and bones. I think I have the spindle swap figured out.
Then we changed the oil in the daily driver.
The snow melted enough to drive the Stude today! Man I've been missing that.
Finished off the day pulling the motor off the 59 Bellboy. It's going on the boat my dad and I are building. All in all,a good weekend.

  9. Not a damn thing, or even less than that.

I did edit a law brief for my daughter, her next to last paper before graduation. The gurls a gonna be a colledge graduate, whoda thunk. [IMG]

  10. I got a ton of drywall done at my dads place, this is good since I think we just inked the deal on 5 ACRES of our own 20 miles out of town!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That means dad gets to FINALLY help me build a house instead of the other way around!!!!

Last night, we had friends over for dinner and did a Polynesian theme, MaiTais and all.

Right now, I am waiting for the shop fumes to clear out, I fixed the rear doors of the touring and metalprepped the inside of them to prevent any future rust.

  11. Deuce,,,,almost finished the floors in the wagon,,,,and replaced the rear panel too!

and trying to teach Cory how to use a mig,,,,,,,and he is getting pretty good at it! HRP

I thought that I was going to get my Merc chassis up on all fours but I ran into a bit of hitch when I started installing the polyurethane bushings...the two inside panhard bar bushings don't fit and one of the trailing arm bushings is missing. I did get all the polished pieces coated with Zoop Seal and the ball joints installed. Maybe next weekend...

This is the post that motivates me from week-to-week...

Continued to weld the floor of the Merc to the chassis of the Lincoln...mocked up the trailer wheelhouses (tech coming soon), and mocked up the fender, door, qtr, rear bumper to get a look at things...

Went car hunting and found a 31 coupe to beat around in. Met this guy Slick and checked out his garage full of old school stuff. He's a top chopper and builds rods. Then we went to check out a 49 chevy and saw a pretty cool bike.
    Here's the coupe.

  18. We just moved so I put away the last of the crap in the new garage, floored the attic and installed an attic ladder. Finished Sat off by cleaning up the sawdust. Today I yanked the transmission out of the Hupp to rebuild it this week and sorted out a wiper system. It was the first time in months I had actually done anything to the car. My life has been filled with "honey-dos" since July. The pretty committee where I lived wanted my car removed. The final straw came when they ticketed my boat and utility trailers (both legally licensed) in my yard. I fought in court and won but decided the snooty crowd and I needed to part company. So I sold the house at the beach and bought 7 acres of heaven out in the sticks. A killer garage too. Life is good.

Started out Saturday by backing my brother's 97 s-10 into a newer Impala in a parking lot, and a few hours later backed my Boss' 2004 Chevy 2500 into a natural gas meter, ruptured the damn thing and am surprised I still have a job. I then decided I need to stay away from new vehicles and reverse.
Today was a hell of a lot better, I didn't break anything, and I changed the water pump on my 65 Chevy truck. I'm covered in grease and antifreeze and feel great.

Spent the weekend in Columbus, OH as spectators at an indoor car show with Roadstar. Meet a few HAMB guys and had a great time partying at a blues bar on Sat nite. On the way back home to Detroit on Sunday we stopped by SKR8PN's place for lunch and a peek at his '38 Dodge truck project. A GREAT weekend with great folks!
