For the archives. Instructions how to use this tester; Mount the dist. and set the direction of rotation, hook up leads (ground & dist. wire). Turn machine on to the first position(cond.) make sure points are in the open position. Turn on condenser switch to the set position, adjust the needle to the cond. set point (marked on the cam angle meter). Turn switch to the res. position and see if the needle falls in the green area of the meter. Turn switch to the ins. test and push the white ****on to test, again see if the needle falls into the green area on the meter. Turn switch to the cap. position, push the white ****on and see if the needle falls into the green area marked for the MFC .2 to .28. Turn the condenser test switch off and the test switch to pts. make sure the points are in the closed position and see if the needle falls into the green area of the meter. If the points and condenser p*** all these test you can go ahead with the running test. Turn the test switch to the set position and set the tack. & cam angle (4 - 6 - 8) depending on your dist. Turn the test switch to std. dist. and your ready to run your performance test. For pulse dist. (HEI) be sure to disconnect the pick-up leads from the module and hook them to the leads on the machine. Back feed could burn out the module. One more thing when you clean the meters don’t polish them they will pick up static charge and will not work for days!
