We toyed with running 4 bar Lancer caps when restoring the car, but decided on it needing chrome reverse wheels. View attachment 4917170 [/QUOTE] Those are my favorite ones! I have been trying to find a 15" set I can afford for awhile now. Also I love your car, especially the color. Gorgeous ride.
I would try full moon discs with black walls.. The car is bright enough, I find when I contrast the wheels with the car it usually looks good.. The chrome reverse would look better with the black wall showing...
I am a fan of the lancers and fiestas. Hard to beat a reverse chrome wheel though. Sent from my XT1710-02 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Olds Fiestas, Dodge Lancers, Buick Blades were the ones to have in the 50's, I liked the Buick Blades best, clean and simple. They all got stolen on a regular basis. The ticket was to put a wet newspaper on one, then church key it off nice and quiet.
They look killer on that ‘56. I would be lying if I said I hadn’t contemplated a set on my ‘64 Chrysler. I didn’t know it was actually custom thing that was done, neat. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Though the after market wheels are always in demand today if you have a set of factory spinner style caps on your ride, you will always draw a crowd.
Honestly I like them all but I also like chrome with buttons... But I had Olds on my Olds... My '56 came with Fiesta's...
I'm a little confused (surprised?). I thought the 4 bar lancers were a lot "taller" than the Lancers shown. I don't know how to describe it other than the hub cap to which I am referring was no where near flat like a moon disc. Any ideas?
There's 2 Lancer styles -'55 - '56, & '57 - '58. There's a slight detail difference in the latter which escapes me ..
It's tough to find good caps for. 14" wheels but here are a few examples that l have for my 57 Chevy convert custom. The first is a Chrysler (57) with a generic spinner. The second is a Comet cap with a static 57 Chevy spinner. Last is a real 57 Lancer with knights head milled out and 57 Chevy spinner emblem mounted in it's place. 4 drawer pulls have been added. I think I found the right hubcaps. They were very popular in the mid 60's and the owners were known to take them off and lock them in the trunk as they were stolen most often. I think they were called Royal Lancers.
I like my olds hubcaps except that look so Eastern German [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my moto z4 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
On my first car I got a set of 4 bars from JC Whitney got tired of chasing one down after hitting a railroad track a highway speed. Went to baby moons and beauty rings.

56 Olds caps, I painted the rings an almond color. They were silver. Sent from my SM-J337V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I am looking for two, 15 inch, really nice aftermarket spinners from the 1960s with the waffle back design, see pic. I do not want the cheesy Chinese re-pops that are available today. I already have several old ones but they are pretty rough. Can anyone help?
