i'm going to be there wed 24th & 25 loading up some equipment that my son-in-law bought for his business. I'm looking for a HAMBer to call on just in case we run into trouble and need to source something. the local guys know the area, we don't. anybody got some 28-9 Model A 2-dr doors or other stuff? thanks in advance Mike Roman (the junkyard pirate)
That place isn't the end of the world but I think you can walk out and look over the edge from there. Looks like Fort Smith Arkansas is the closest town on your route that anyone will recognize right off the bat.
I know Spiro, somewhat! It’s about forty/fifty miles South/East of me. That’s quite a trip from Pa. ! Bones
yes, Fort Smith is pretty close. any recommendations on a safe place to stay? just read another thread about Oklahoma & RoundHouse Bib Overalls. I wear Bibs all the time. anyplace near Sprio that I can get some?
I don’t know of any. The corporate America has done away with all the mom and pop stores, where you could get anything. If it doesn’t sell in bundles, you aren’t going to find it! Bones
Check out Roothawg, here on the HAMB, he has kin folk that work at the Roundhose Factory, about a 125 miles West on I-40. Bones
Hmm. 2100 folks call it home and Google Maps shows a Dollar General store and a funeral home. Temperatures look like in the 50's and rain when you are there. Stay safe.
This might be helpful info https://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g51662-Spiro_Oklahoma-Vacations.html I have eaten at the Barn a number of times and it was very good. But they're only open for supper (4:30 pm) Thursday, Friday and Saturday so you may be on your way home by then.
I have eaten there several times over the years! Great food! Beans out of this world! Great cat fish! I highly recommend it! We have driven many times there, just for an evening meal. About 65 miles or so for us, but worth it. Bring cash! Lol If you get there at 4:30 expect a line! Bones
i know this has nothing to do with this .but mr. chevrolet im interested in buying the vintage air unit you have for sale. this is only way i can reach you. ive bought parts from other hambers before but it wont let me start a conversation . tks mike stead.
Far as I know Roundhouse is still the only overall still made in the USA. Only overalls I've bought for years now, but I just get em from Langstons.com. Their stores are in OKC. Good luck on your trip.
