If you want to see car ads go to AACA library site. They have thousands of ads scanned. I did over 9000 for them, they go back to about 1900.
I wanted one of these for my first car soo bad! It would replace the Audiovox FM radio that someone had installed prior to my purchase. I saw a used on in a second-hand shop back then, they wanted $110 for it; too much for my college bank account.
As it turned out, this car had numerous aerodynamic issues, (one of the biggest was the vertical fin in the back). Craig made 36 passes with this car. The second to the last pass was 594 MPH and the last one was 608 MPH in the opposite direction, which gave us the average of 600.601 MPH. From an aerodynamic standpoint, Craig's 3-wheel LSR car was actually a much better design (as the first vehicle to hold a Land Speed Record over 400 and 500 MPH). The 3-wheel vehicle was powered by a J-47 engine, and the 4-wheel car above was powered by a much more powerful J-79 engine. It was power that got us over 600 MPH, not aerodynamics.
