Why don't you just buy a Honda Civic and put a Ford logo on it?

To each his own, but to me, it reminds me of those fake flathead valve covers for small block Chevy engines. Fakes should at least look like something real, and not be obviously fake.

  5. It seems everything today is fake. Fake boobs, fake bikers, fake old school hotrodders, fake coolness and the one I like is the fake rust on a glass body. If you're trying to make people think you have fuel injection be prepared to hear the comments.

for double the cost of the phony air cleaner you could find three Strombergs that would be way cooler  $30, yeah, that's a cheap way out, $300?!?!?!?!?

That's almost as cool as the setup BIG DADDY Don Garlits was trying to market.

I guess it is all in what you wish to accomplish with it. For the purist or "traditionalist" it will always remain fake to the nth degree. However, for the average Joe who is poking his head into your engine bay and admiring your ride at a local show, they would never know the difference. Chances are great that they could care the less, even if they did know the difference. Probably get a ton of "That's cool, Man!" exclaimations by those types, but you will have to endure the "P.O.S." nomer exclaimed by the average street rodder who views it. Of course, it is your ride, so the hell with their comments and thoughts on it, should you want to go that route.

If it were something that you had built yourself, in a moment of great creative imspiration, then I'd say go for it and let the hooting be damed. However, since it is a mass production item to a great degree, and not an original idea by you, then I'd say, "No way!" Chuck the idea and save the wasted coins for something better. After all, how long do you intend to keep it on your ride anyway?

Lots of stuff is fake, and some of it is great. Viagra ain't really based on real, natural urges, but the pills aren't tossed down the drain all that often, so something must be great about them, huh? :)

  12. You should be shunned for even bringing it up! Somehow I can picture that bolted to a honda hood.

  15. So what are hot rods all about?

    In a word, performance.

    PERFORMANCE.

    Ain't it simple?

If it doesn't make the car go faster you don't need it.

(Pretty paint and chrome plating excepted.)

(Oh yeah, a little aluminum don't hurt either.):D

    Geez....

Nobody else said it yet, so I'll spit out the question. Do you really want to put BLING on a traditional rod?

You'd be better off spending 2 bills on an old 50 cad air cleaner.....way better looking with functional factory scoops and a cool factor as well....

notta darn thing wrong with a 4 barrel....

I think this thread could have ended with this comment here. 'nuff said.

However, I'll add it is as cool as a 4" tailpipe on a 1" exhaust.

  22. Here's an idea to shake up the troops... Put REAL stack injection on that Chevy. Those small throat Hilborns are avail. cheap, and you can adapt a junkyard TPI setup for the injectors. AND, they won't blow off at 80 mph...

Please post more photos of fake boobs with derogatory comments......or no comments.

  23. There's a street rod here in NZ with one of them fake injector thingies..... fucking awful!

You might consider doing what I did on my 26'T roadster: run a single four barrel with a 50's style wide air cleaner. (Olds/Caddy type) It dresses out the engine real nice, & carries the old school theme too! Just another opinion.

Looks like FOOL INJECTION to me.

  28. Maybe as a paper weight on your desk.
Or as a pencil holder, welding rod holder, or paint brush drier, BUT never on a car.

It looks like some work and thought went into it, but I wouldn't be happy with this on my engine and would encourage friends to avoid it.

Does it have a manufacturer plate with brail writing on it? This blind guy called and wants his FI system back....:) You could mount it to the hood of your daily so when you open it, it will move with the hood...get it! You could mount it on your kids peddle cart along with a big set of wheels and tires on the back, and a super tall gear shifter! Rat fink......;)
