I recently purchased a 1940 Ford Coupe with a 350 SBC. I need to replace the radiator hoses. I have looked at other threads but would appreciate your advice. The car has a Walker radiator. As can be seen in the pictures the hoses are larger than standard and are "bunched" up at the thermostat housing, water pump and radiator inlet/outlet. Please look at how the lower hose weaves under the sway bar and then another bend before attaching to the water pump. Thanking you in advance. Al

  2. At closer glance I can see on the upper hose at the thermostat the hose looks hand cut. I didn't catch that yesterday.

Looks like your lower rad hose is collapsing at higher rpm. Is there a spring in there?

Make a pattern out of heater hose the way you want it and start looking at the rack at the parts store.

Top side of the bottom hose, I'd hack a half inch off at a time to get that bend out of it, for the time being.....
    'Hack' being the operative word...:D

For the bottom hose, I used a 57 chevy V8 hose. Had to cut a little but fits great. My top I used a 45deg hose with a straight thermo housing. I don't have a lot of things in the way for the top hose, it was a straight shot.

  11. Looks like a 57 Chevy hose for the bottom. I'm sure Ms Keri can get one of those. If you use the Gates hose mentioned above, it may interfere with 3rd point adjustable rods.
