Just guessing here, but looks like 3 pranksters got caught (probably by the dad of one of them) and meted out punishment befitting the crime. I hate to admit that during my mindless youth I did this a time or two. But one night, when I was a senior in HS a bunch of us were riding around and they started breaking off radio antennas - I guess by the ripe old age of 17 I had grown a little smarter, and I said "guys, I just remembered I forgot to do my chores, I gotta go home now".
I read along time ago Richard Petty's autobiography. He said the his dad and he both at times drove their race cars to the track. In his early days Lee sent Richard to race out of state. He drove the race car to those races.
