Chuck Finders built this ‘33 and convinced Tim Woods to let him run it with a blown Olds that was obsoleted when SWC went to Chrysler hemi’s, but soon after Tim Woods decided to campaign a 392 powered Mustang funny named the Dark Horse 2. I saw the Mustang run many times in the Midwest.

    Hello all,

Just before he started his own career as a race car driver, Don Prudhomme was in the Tommy Ivo group. He toured with Ivo all over the USA and then had his success with the Hemi powered Kent Fuller chassis FED.

With the short wheel base and a powerful Buick motor, it tended to give the ride of the century. But, including a 671 supercharged Hemi motor in the same short wheelbase chassis was a recipe for some exciting handling skills.

When he wanted more power, the blown Hemi motor took the place of the Buick motor.

There was one similar to that, called "The Chiquita Banana", it wound up racing on sand, saw it at Coos Bay, in 1970.

Doug Hartlet, at left, racing Gene Mooneyham. That is the famous 554 coupe, running a flathead. Doug ran a GMC, but never go the power out of it that other GMCs did, according to Don Montgomery, because Doug used a Potvin cam instead of the Howard Cams that Don and other GMC guys ran. So Doug switched to a flathead, and later a front-mounted blown Chrysler with one of the early Potvin kits.

  23. Yes I saw Rolling Stone Automotive - Dallas - and something didn't look right - like the front wheels - maybe the idea came from Eddie. The original did run without fenders at one point in it's progression.

It does look a little like a Dodge Sweptside pickup but it is a 57 A100 Cornbinder.
Actually an International Diamond Jubilee edition I believe it was called.
