This cool little unit was in a box of NOS dealer add-ons that came w/ my '59 Country Squire station wagon. Anyone ever seen another one? Thanks, Jeremiah
Wow cool its just like gettin' someone to kick you in the chest to get it started only without the bruise. never seen one, now i gotta have one.
I was thinking about contacting Dearborn Cl***ics to see if they had any interest in reproducing them based on my example. Over the years I've asked every Ford nut possible if theyhave seen or heard of one and nobody has. Jeremiah
Have you used it? Does it work as shown in the destruction sheet? I have always wondered but can't bring myself to install it due to being NOS w/ box etc.
Yup,seen 'em.Had 10-15 NOS ones were I worked. Several companies made them too. I think I have one in a box around here... More common in 6 volt then 12 volt. I like the dash mounted one that rolls out the cig like a toothpick despensor at Denny's.And it's lit.
i have one of those new in the box too. i was offered $75 for it but at the time i thought, naaaaaaaaaaaa it really an oddball accessory that i'll keep it . i guess i should of sold it, oooooo well...joe
They were moderately common through the 1970's at flea markets. I've seen the dispenser type ones, but not an instruction sheet--don't quite understand those, but clearly neat. Be the first to fail your smog test for too much nicotine in your exhaust! The mid-50's GM option was a vacuum ashtray that ****ed the dreck out of the car into a holding jar under the hood, I believe. So, GM controlled half the tech, Ford the other half, and no one could put together a perfect vehicle for the serious cancer fan!
