These came off my car, I figured it was when we did the firewall flip. But the floor had been replaced, too, so, maybe it's from somewhere like the B-pillar area. I don't have a clue and I've spent the better part of 2 hours searching and then zooming in on photos.

    Thanks for your help!

I just went out and checked. They don't go anywhere around there. I have the header to side wood brackets in. Based on the surface rust, that the sand blasting couldn't get to, I ***umed somewhere around the bottom perimeter of the subrail-body.

We were smart and marked them with numbers that make no sense... hahaha.

Ha !! @Flop has gone Amish. Wood worker, tiling artist .. and a legit tree chopper.

His Instagram is hilarious. All his home & outside projects .. ( & they're really good ) .. .. I wanna' ask how much is the chop ?

He's having fun as a home owner. Hit him up on IG. Yes. He'll know, but an *ss load of people here would, too.

They go on the back side of the B pillar. The smaller side 3 bolts line up with holes in the pillar. The longer side is horizontal below the quarter window. Your quarter wood can tie into it.
If you have a 30-31 they really arent needed. They are more structural in a 28-29.

I have a ‘31. Never saw anything like those brackets. Flipped my firewall too. I was wondering if they were a ‘28-29 thing, as @Corn Fed eluded to. Or maybe I just never removed them.

They probably strengthen/beef up the latch area so maybe a good thing to buckle in if you have it...

    Thanks man!

And thanks to everyone else, too.

For those searching in the future: we'll call these B pillar to quarter window brackets.

I'm thrilled to have this mystery solved!

Corn Fed, I owe you one.

My coupe didn't have them. The guy i bought the car from probably stole them....Never trust an east coaster! :D My wood kit is a little different as well as i don't have that bottom wood piece that the bracket would attach too.

...Waaaa!!...I honestly can't even remember whether if they were there either...it truly is easy to see how serious head scratching can evolve with the good Ole Blueprints with either the wood or the body's...who knows maybe from that piece downward is the mid door wood kit...

I sure as heck hope I don't find them...if I do they'll be on the UPS express asap...

Showing how they are fastened. They provide extra support for the wood and panel . This pic is from a '30 coupe. DSC06382.JPG

@A 2 B, are those 3 Countersunk stove bolts running through the entire post and wood via the latch side? I'm suspecting yes...thanks, that gives a great visual on install and hardware...

The 3 Thru bolts seen from the door Jamb. The small curved transitional piece is fastened with 2 wood screws into the other wood support piece from underneath which in turn is held on by 2 wood screws going thru the support bracket from the underside.

Thanks A2...that clarifies it all in a nutshell...those two wood screws going upward probably took their toll with skinning knuckles installing them...that and the pics will certainly be a helpful resource for those tackling the interior of these very plentiful A-Bones...

  30. Now put them on a shelf somewhere that you won't be able to find them when you want them a few months from now. :D
