40vert, Thanks for the great time. You know what its all about, not a money thing. Doc, good luck to ya, have a cookie for me. This is what the HAMB is all about. Thanks Ryan for letting me part of it. Hope to see ya all at Louisville. Denise did not mean to leave ya out, once you put up the cookies, doc was unstopable, Mrs. Fields must not have anything on you. Flat top bob, thanks for a great auction, you are truly a friend of the HAMB, tell Norm thanks.

    WOW! What an exciting auction!

Thanks to Norm and Flat Top Bob.

Congratulations Doc! Your generosity is outstanding, as is that of all the bidders. Youse guys are a class act, and the HAMB is well served because of it.

So, will this treasure get to ride, or will it be sequestered to a glass box on the mantle?

    Good job!!!

    Just a little update.
Bob just called and he is out in California on vacation. His computer fried where he's at. He has no way on logging on and giving any kind of instruction to Doc. As soonas he is able , he will be online.

    Slick,

This skull will see lots of road miles. My '33 is about three months from completion (fingers crossed) and the HAMB SKULL will be riding shotgun with me. I've been pretty silent about the '33 since I'm not doing most of the work myself, but I promise it will be HAMB worthy. Sneak preview: '33 C-dan with 2" chop and 4" channel running on an original boxed frame. Blown injected flatty (see my avatar)built by Uncommon Engineering, 4" drop front end with a Winters quick change in the rear, mounted on a buggy spring, 12 spoke spindle mount Americans up front, and 10"x15" Halibrands out back. I designed all of the guages with a funky twist, and the rear view mirror is from a P-51 Mustang (thanks Bluto). Savage made the steering wheel and it is a work of art. Wait till you see the taillights I made for it. There is not an inch on this car that I have not thought about for years.
I know this thread is worthless without pics, but they will be coming shortly.

Just an unbelievable deal. Congrats DOC! I hope at one point I get to meet ya and shake your hand for the stepping up that you and the other guys did. Putting that much jingle in the HAMB gas tank to keep this machine trucking along is and probably will be for a long time unparalled

This money is going to go directly to the users in some way shape or form... A new feature, something... I'll figure it out... I just wanted to thank everyone. I'm speechless.

Damn, that's what I get for being gone for nearly 4 weeks (still trying to catch up and am at page 79 with 5 more days to go at 40 posts/page!) - I missed this whole thing & just saw Norm a couple days ago at the UK SuperNats - would've definitately let him know how appreciated his generosity is around here...

...would have been a bit challenging though, I'd have had to interrupt Ratty convincing him that poking badgers with spoons was the UK national sport!!

FE, I spoke with him quite a bit this weekend and he was well impressed with the auction and how well it was received on here.... In fact between Norm and Chuck (Vranas) the Hamb was mentioned more than a dozen times.. More often than Spooning Badgers strangely...

Norm is one hell of a guy.. I said it to his face and I'll say it on here.. 'He's got an ego that could eat Tokyo..' but in a good way !!

And Norm, if you're reading this.. on someone else's PC.. ( He don't do technology !!) Then, again - "No I'm not Canadian !!!" LOL

Nope. it comes from emptying those Crown Royal bags Norm packs the skulls in....

    Congrats DOC. Normskulls rule.

Norm made a skull for me many years ago and I wouldn't take 50 grand for it.

Wow, what a great auction. As I've read through it, I am impressed by the creativity - blow off the naysayers - I hope some day to meet you three! (I've had the privilege of meeting Denise) A friend of mine has one of Norms skull in his car, it's a prized possession. Way to go guys!
