Transverse mounted supercharged hemi with chain drive HOLY$#@%

 

M/T's twin that was built for drag racing, minus it streamlined body. This was it's first time out for a test session at San Gabriel drag strip. Mickey and Fritz Voight were hauling it to the NHRA Nationals a few months later when, on a lark, they stopped by Bonneville during speed week. A couple days later Mickey had driven the twin to 294MPH. This car, and that run planted the seed for the Challenger and an attempt at the land speed record.
