Much love from Florida. My wife is due in October. All will turn out for the better. I was premature, only 7 weeks, but that was big deal in '81. They had me on a respirator, which deflated one of my lungs. The blew it back up like a baloon and I turned out just fine.Although, my wife might argue that. It is truly amazing what technology, research and education has brought to the medical world of today. Please keep us updated.
thanks for taking the time to let your extended family know what was going on.....now the HAMB machine is working like it does. You and your family are in my family's thoughts.....keep us posted!!

thoughts and prayers to yours fwiw I was born 3 months premature, got down to under 2 pounds, in 1966 at a University hospital and turned out normal and healthy (except for being a HAMB addict) s.
UPDATE********************* Well since the first posting this is the first time I have touched the computer. So sorry for the delay! --Everything has been a big emotional roller-coaster. One day its good next not so good. So we have learned to deal with this by just waiting till the next day when we recieve not so good news. And cherishing the good news. So The baby with the heart problem, has put up a fight like no other over the past few weeks. He is being a total bad*** about it all too!! The heart problem wasnt turning out to be all that great of an issue, just one of the valves wasnt closing all the way, so it was getting some blow-by. He is still dealing with that and the hydrops (dont feel bad if you dont know what that means I didnt either! Its fluid collecting in the body) but rather well the docs say. We seemed to level out there for a while then we got some upsetting news about him. He is bleeding in his head. So a number of things could happen from this. Such as nothing at all and he is fine (pretty sure his bad*** little self will go with that one), handicapped both physically and mentally, or even death. So we have been dealing with that also. But other than that he is growing and developing normally And the baby that had no problems is growing normal and developing great. But he is getting beat alot by his brother. they fight constantly! its way funny! His brother keeps trying to push him out of the womb early. I guess thats what he gets for putting all that extra fluid on his brother. Both boys weigh about a pound and a half each now too. Wife has to stay near the hospital. So we got her an apartment in SLC. Its about 2 or 3 minutes away from the hospital. I stay at my house during the week and go stay with her on the weekends. She has to have someone there constantly watching over her so her mom stays during the time i'm not there. Kinda ****s ******** cause I lost her income and gained an apartment to rent till she has the kids. Plus I still get to pay for my house and bills there!!! I will let you guys know of any updates I get. Thank you for all the prayers and support. I was blown away by all of you!! Thank you.
Keep up the positive at***ude. My family and I be thinking of you and yours. Good luck, and tell the boys..and Mom we are all pullin for em.
with 2 kids myself I feel you brother , stay strong and I hope your little one keeps up a good fight . My best wishes to you and your family . Buzz bomb
You are in my prayer and I will put you up on the prayer board at my church,God bless you!!!He helps thoses who ask in His name
wow, just read the last 4 pages, and all I can say is I'm prayin too, and my wife poked her head in, and read a bit, and she's praying as well. We have a 2 year old, and he gave us a lil scare being a couple weeks early, ended up in NICU with lung difficulty, but pulled through A.O.K. I myself was a premie too, by about 9 weeks back in '77. I am here to say I think I turned out ok too. Again.. others may debate... but that's not why I'm typing. I'll keep up my prayers for ya, and your family too. God bless. Peace Chris
Hey, Bud- There is a God, and He's as real as you or me. He's around you and your wife, and if you call on Him, He DOES hear you. He saved me from doin' something stupid, once. Just remember, He's a whole lot smarter than any of us, so if you don't understand why things are the way they are, or how they did or didn't turn out, don't worry, He's drivin' the bus, and knows the turf. If you're on board, he'll take you and your wife to EXACTLY were you need to be. KEEP THE FAITH...
May things continue to move in a positive direction for you and your family... Thinkin' Positive, Dave
We had scares too, but all was fine in the end. My wife had to go in alot, then spent the last month in UCDavis. Have fun when you get the 2 healthy babies home. I was just in the SLC airport for 3 hours yesterday.

Hey Mom & Dad, When these children do come out nice and healthy, How about sharing some pics with your H.AM.B. Family?

I had a hole in my heart the size of a quarter when I was three. I was sick all the time and the doctors couldn't figure it out. My dad was playing with one of those Fisher Price doctor kits with the stethescope (when they actually worked) and instead of me having a bump-bump heartbeat, I had bump-whoosh. Had to have open heart surgery at 3 but I'm fine now, owing my life to a Fisher Price toy. Good luck to you and your boys, a leaking heart valve is not the end of the world. Hope everything works out for you.
