Found an original 1934 Ford frame. Any ideas as to what a frame like this might be worth?? It’s been sitting for years which is evident by the trees growing through the frame.
Those front shock mounts are later additions. Is there anything else hotrodded on this? Does it have hydraulic brakes? It looks decent from here. It really depends on condition and whatnot, but I could see this frame having a retail value of $1500 to someone who needs one. The front wishbone and axle add quite a bit of value over just a bare frame, same for the wavy rear spring that is a 33/34 only thing. That's assuming it's not rotted out badly anywhere. Maybe more, maybe less depending. Of course, if I was buying, I'd offer $500 and go up from there. Do you have a need for it?
Thought I’d scarf it up if the price was right. He’s had it for 50 years, outdoors no less. It’s not pristine by no means because I see some old cobbled up welding that was done on certain places on the frame, but thought it was kind of a nice ole piece to have I guess. Came out of Texas to Michigan in 1961 before he got it. QUOTE="Squablow, post: 13996135, member: 5943"]Those front shock mounts are later additions. Is there anything else hotrodded on this? I see rust holes on the inside of the rear kick up. But it does have a dropped axle, intact wishbone, and later brakes and spindles. Probably $1,000 worth around here.
If it's a good price, it's definitely worth getting, it needs to be dug out of the dirt and brought inside. Definitely some hotrod value there. Hard to pin down a dollar amount based on limited info, but if it's only a few hundred bucks or something, you're nuts not to jump on it.
I don't know what it's worth too buy, but it's worth getting out of the woods before the tree between the rear axle and crossmember gets any bigger. And @Squablow is right about the front shocks.
That would be considered $1000+ pretty good frame in my neck of the woods. Probably the reason it faired so well is it didn't have a rusty body sitting on it, trapping moisture.
Ironically, that was what sat on this frame back in the early 70’s. Sadly, that 3 Window Coupe is long gone now.
