Hey guys getting ready to have the exhaust done on my sbc 32 pickup. Doing driveshaft tubes under the truck and was curious what people did for baffles and what size?
You honestly don’t need any unless the motor is high compression and rowdy. A mild motor will sound great and it’s not near as loud as you would think it would be. But if you do want some. I have put DynaTech auger type baffles in and trimmed them to fit the pipe. Just weld a small tab the screw blade to secure it with a small screw or nut and bolt through the outside of the pipe. Quiets it down with out quoting it down too much. https://www.jegs.com/i/Dynatech/329...HxAelSc0W0Biq_2yNbL6xkQuQSldVheQaAtfkEALw_wcB
As stated above "What Baffles" ? Had 36 shafts no baffles on this 1 with a BIG nasty flatty and loved it. Peeps behind me not so much
Thanks! Yeah I just have a 305 so nothing crazy. It had lake headers and those were way to loud so wanted this set up right! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I went riding my harley one day into a town that had a sound ordinance so i rolled up a piece of small square wire and stuffed into the tailpipe for a so called “baffle” so i wouldnt get a ticket from the sound police. It actually worked pretty good. But i will have to say that as soon as i got home i pulled them back out. I think summit actually sales some slide in cones for header collecters that drag racers use sometimes that would probly work for you. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
