I had a ride in that car when I was 14 years old.
With Ted’s dad. It was 1961. I got to see it resurrected. Teds Dad is such a nice guy. It was an inspiration that stuck. So at 73 I still build and play with hot rods. The kids okay too[emoji41]

That's awesome! I already knew the story from the build thread, but it was great to hear you tell it and to see the car in video. Great job!

hah, only if I can choose the answer categories "I'll take small block Chevys for 500, Ted" :D

I would say umm. I kept looking off camera, I had to stop myself from swaying, etc....it wasn't easy for me:oops:

I read some racer lore in a Thread the other day on Green paint...I guess that was part of the Sleeper allure...:D

That race back in the day was Priceless and I recall in the Mag article you shared It was referenced as a Streetrod when Stogy was teething...Street Legal/Race Hotrod

Great job. Beautiful car and history. Proud to say a movie star painted my dash.
I need you to sign the dash now.

  20. Well done, Ted, thank you for sharing, i love when cars, people and history melt together, that is possibly the way where cars get there own character from. Enjoyed it very much! :)
    Cheers, Carsten

I was so happy to get the old race footage. Mark tracked it down for us.

    hah:)

EVERYTHING is about the people and story.:)

thanks guys, I am happy to share it.

  23. Cool Video! I Love your coupe. But it's history is the best part. My mom used to say Ronnie, {it's just a old car}. NO, it's not just an old car. It's a lifetime of love, and memories. I hope that little coupe sees many more generations in your family. Making still more memories, history, and fun!!:) Thanks for sharing.

Wow! What a car, story, and living provenance!

Most of us only have photographs and memories, (nod to Jim Croce), to remember the cars of our youth. You are one lucky guy Ted. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
