Heres a few things that some of us are sure to remember...I do.

    1. Head lights dimmer switches on the floor.

    2. Ignition switches on the dashboard.

    3. Heaters mounted on the inside of the fire wall.

    4. Pant leg clips for bicycles without chain guards.

    5. Using hand signals for cars without turn signals.

    6. Blackjack or Cloves chewing gum.

    7. Wax Coke-shaped bottles with colored sugar water.

    8. Candy cigarettes.

    9. Soda pop machines that dispensed bottles.

    10. Coffee shops with tableside jukeboxes,

    11. Home milk delivery in glass bottles with cardboard stoppers.

    12. Party lines telephones.

    13. Newsreels before the movie.

    14. Butch hair wax.

    15. Telephone numbers with a word prefix like (Plaza-6933).

    16. Peashooters.

    17. Howdy Doody.

    18. 45 RPM records.

    19. S&H Green Stamps.

    20. Hi-fi's.

    21. Metal ice trays with levers to pop out the cubes.

    22. the Packard or Studebaker automobile.

    23. Roller skate keys.

    24. Drive-In Movies.

    25 Real Ice Boxes.

If you remembered 0-5 -You're still young.

If you remembered 6-10 -You are getting older

If you remembered 11-15 - Don't tell your age.

If you remembered 16-25 - You're older than dirt!

I might be older than dirt, but those memories have enriched my life.

I must be one of the older than dirts! I can mostly remember ALL of them.

How about a newsreel and a cartoon before the feature movie?

    The "GoodHumor" ice cream truck?

Btw those metal ice trays with the lever where kinda creepy like a medival torture tool.
Btw the candy cigarettes I remember where actually bubble gum with powder so you could puff em for the full effect :D

  9. Call me Dr Dirt.

How about getting a dollars' worth of gas for the weekend? This of course came with a courtesy check of all four tires, the oil, the coolant, and you got your windshield cleaned.

How about waiting for the filaments in the vacuum tubes in the car radio to heat up?

A few years back the State of Mass (confusion) came out with new emissions/inspection requirements that necessitated the use of a dyno set-up. A lot of garages stopped doing inspections so I had to stop getting my 52 inspected at a "real" garage that knows what they're doing and go a Service (yeah right) Station. Their policy was that the attendant had to drive the vehicle into the bay even for safety-only inspections. My 1/2 ton still has the stock stomp-starter on the 235 so I just tossed them the keys and walked over to Dunkin' Donuts for a coffee. My uncle and the usual crowd of old timers were there and we all had a grand time watching a string of kids try to figure out how to start it.

I guess I qualify as remembering when dirt was invented. Sad part is I still have alot of this stuff and some of these items are still for sale around here. I can't quite recall when it was that the sky was painted blue. Hmmmm, I must not be as old as I thought.

I remember them all. Also remember going to the movies Saturday morning and seeing cartoons, a serial, and a movie . That really must make me older than dirt.

I'm only 31 and I guess I am older than dirt. I absolutely loved my Nannie's lever action ice cube trays...I guess it was the mechanics of the whole operation. Rob, I guess I guess if you were just a little bit(4 years) older you would also remember the sugar stick cigs.
