I saw the post about the cartoon taxi, and I remembered the old toon about a blue coupe. I think her name was Sally. Got beat up, junked, and then hotrodded by a teenager. Did I make this up, or is it real? I havn't watched the Disney cannel for like 15 years.

Go to your local Wal Mart.
Look in the 2 for $11 bin....

They should have a DVD called the ultimate cartoon collection or something to that nature.

It will have a lot of 3 Stooges cartoons on it (which are cool too).

But it also includes that cartoon that you are asking about.

I hadn't seen it forever and my wife bought me that DVD. I was so happy to finally see it again. That cartoon is the greatest.

Gotta Hijack a little bit, does anyone remember "Dad, can I Borrow the Car?" featuring Kurt Russell? It showed some of the wilder show rods and had a memorable scene of two "Von Dutch" style pinstripes dragging down a car's body! I have'nt seen it since '73, but it made a lasting impression!

  11. I got a copy of "Dad,can I borrow the car" off ebay last year.Cool little movie with alot of old cars.

Somebody has the Avatar of the car with the cab body and then the blue coupe. It switches. Is this the same Disney video?

I don't mean to "hijack" the subject, but does anyone remember that old "GOOFY" cartoon, where he has road rage? That one is awsome, or so I remember. I'll have to check if any of these are on YOUtube

The "Dad, can I borrow the car" thing. Does that have the film short of the car being striped all by it's self? I thought it was more along the lines (haha, get it?!) of a later Chevy getting fully panel striped. I'm probably all wet. Seems this has come up a few years ago, I remember asking about it then too. I must acquire a copy of this!

I miss Sunday nights when I was a little kid watching Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom followed up with Wonderful World of Disney. I think Hee-Haw was on Saturday night.

    I know, "SAD"......

Jeem, I can relate! That was pretty much my schedule as well, unless dad was into 60 minutes, and I had to give it up for the night!

  23. Speaking of old Disney cartoons, anybody remember this guy from shop class?

  26. I like the disney cartoon called "MICKEY'S TRAILER" released in 1938.
Goofy's in the driver's seat, Mickey's in the kitchen, and Donald's in bed in Mickey's high-tech house trailer. When Goofy comes back to eat breakfast, leaving the car on autopilot, it takes them onto a dangerous closed mountain road. When Goofy realizes this, he accidentally unhooks the trailer, sending it on a perilous route. They come very close to disaster several times, while the oblivious Goofy drives on and hooks back up to them

I actaully named my first car, a 1973 Impala Sport Coupe, after this cartoon. We called her "Steamboat Susie" That's where my nickname comes from. Crazy.

don't go to you tube and search them. Your inner child will come out and you'll be watching cartoons all day...not that I know from experience or anything...
