1952-59 Ford Ever use the Vermont “Bill of Sale” process to obtain a title?

Discussion in 'Off Topic Hot Rods & Customs' started by Jerry's Customline, Mar 29, 2021.

  1. My car was a barn find, sitting since 1969. No one knew where the ***le was. I checked online and found the Vermont “Bill of Sale” process for obtaining a new ***le.
I’ve gotten as far as getting my car ***led and obtaining plates from Vermont. But I haven’t gone to my Pennsy DMV yet to get a ***le.
I was just wondering if anyone had any trouble with that last step?

Dude, I just went through this in my state, CA. Was not that hard with a DMV registration service.

DMV ***les and services for for another state may not always work for your state.

I would just make sure you have a bill of sale (indicating the purchase price), a affidavit from the seller saying "I lost the ***le, I and the previous owner, etc", make sure the VIN is easy to read and not messed with.
Most likely you will have to have the VIN verified.

Then look the process to get and new ***le and transfer for YOUR particular DMV in your STATE. If you have a AAA DMV type place call and check to see what papers ae needed.

  3. The VIN was checked for salvage ***le and whether it was ever reported stolen. I paid the registration fee based on the NADA value of the car, and got it registered and tagged from Vermont. Now according to the ***le guy, all the other States will recognize the Vermont registration and issue me a ***le in my state.

Did you get a ***le or just plates and a registration?

You need to consult with the state you want to bring it into for the requirements to register it in that state.

Most states requires a form of ownership. Then a VIN verification. And a transfer fee.

  5. Just a registration and plates. According to the ***le guy, I can get a legal PA ***le, from a Vermont registration. Check out “Vermont Bill of sale ***le process” on you tube.
