Bored last night so I found I had a copy of the California kid movie and sat and watched it. I dont know if they used special effects or not but I must say if they used the original sounds of the motor when he ia running up and down the hiway that is one great sounding small block ford! Reminds me of my buddys 65 mustang Shelby, all original with the original solid lifter small block. Best sounding small blocks to roll off of an ***embly line!
Check this out. It's a very interesting read. TRAILING THE CALIFORNIA KID – Pat Ganahl's Rod and Custom
Great movie and car! They dubbed in the sound from a big block chevy.....another vote for chevy powered ford street rods, lol;-) Sent from my SM-G930U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Pat did this one recently and when I read it I thought to myself "I haven't seen this since it came out on TV." So I got on Amazon and ordered a copy. When it came a few days later I opened it in front of Sherry. She told me that we had a copy but I didn't believe her. A few minutes later she came back into the room and laid 2 copies on top of the one I just got. Still haven't watched it. Old age; CRS; etc. b-t-w; After I read Pat's blog I got on Google Earth and found and pinned nearly everything he mentioned. I haven't been to California in about 15 years and may never get back out that way; but if I do I'll know where to find those places.
Ah, the Chebbrainwashed lol- of course they would dub in some healthy sounds instead of the mild street rod engine with auto trans- and would use what was easily available, probably a studio car. Wanna hear some great small block sounds? Go to the vintage road races and listen to the B/Production GT350s howl- those cars are ridiculously fast, and handed many a Corvette its *** lol
