Beautiful car congratulations. Even though this forum is dedicated to a certain type of car I think there is room in this hobby for a variety of styles. When I bought my 1947 in 1962 it was already a hotrod with a frozen Oldsmobile engine so I never had your prediciment. I drove it with a 303 Olds and 5 different transmissions duing hogh school That said when I retired and finally had the time and money to finish it my tastes had changed several times. In the 1960's if able I might have made a gasser with straight axle and a blower sticking through the hood. Later I just wanted the hottest Oldsmobile that I could take for long drives maybe take Route 66 to California from Nebraska. I ended up needing help to finish it at a professional shop. He convinced me to use a modern engine and it works great with 450 hp good gas milage and smooth as silk. The point is it is your car and you should do what you want and not worry about anybody else just like you won't criticize them for what they build.
Most of us on this forum are a little order and time is a terible thing. Don't wait to do what you want and don't let anyone convince you to do something that won't make you happy.
My thought is keeping it pristine so the next owner will be happy is like not making love to your girlfriend so her next boyfriend gets the honor.

  2. I’m sure a lot of us give the advice to start with the best you can afford, looks like that is working out for you. Full speed ahead.

I think the OP already had his mind made up what he was going to do with the car when he started this thread. Not sure what he was after.....affirmation? discussion? a little stirring of the pot maybe? Hell man, it's your car! Do whatever you want with it and to it! Some of us will get it, some won't. Some will like it, others won't. No peer pressure here, right guys?
