Technical Banjo steering wheel in a Model A

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Chris Haynes, Mar 13, 2021.

  1. I am going to put a Banjo wheel in my A. I know I have to change the mounting taper. My question after the wheel is installed will the horn/headlight rod be the right length to fit? If not can I order one from the repop company the correct legnth?

The measurement is critical as you know. The headlight switch rod must not only engage the switch with the two prongs on the spider, but be long enough for the bottom spring to compress and the anchor clip to fit. That being said, if you can take an exact measurement from the top of the steering column bushing, to the top face of the original steering wheel and match it to your replacement banjo steering wheel it should work.
