1952-59 Ford rearend 8.8 disk brake

    is there a rearend 8.8 disk brake that is a bolt in for a 55 ford customline

    I posted one from the ranger station a couple post down. There’s a link there for mustangs that’ll bolt onto a 8.8.

    An Explorer rear with two of the short side axles is the right width and from 1995 to 2002 is disc brake.

    Don't you have to cut the housing to use two short side axles?

    That’s what ffr222k said. There are at least 3 you tubes showing how to do it. There are lot of other brackets remove and grind smooth. You also can grind or saw off a lot of the center housing that’s no longer needed. A yoke is available to make a standard u-joint fit your drive shaft. I had a new one made.

    Local differential shop quoted me @ $250 to narrow the long-side 3".
    Rear End cost $200 at my local pick-n-pull with a 3.73 LSD and an extra short axle.
