Not a chance in Hell that's legit. Even if they knew how to write an add, it'd still look like a scam.

  3. No where in Downey looks like that also.

I messed with someone on there years ago that was selling a '36 Ford p/u super cheap in Florida. Turns out he worked for a company that had him overseas at the time and he wanted a tow company to handle all the transactions. The "tow" company was located in Washington state (a quick google map search found just a regular building), I wanted to look at it as I just happened to have "relatives" near both locations......he soon stopped contacting me.......I was shocked.....I had cash in hand :).

I'm not clicking that link. If they're scamming you with cars, they're likely also geared up to steal any personal info they can and infect your computer to boot.

Oodle just displays ads originally found elsewhere. That 'CarDealFinder' sounds mighty sketchy...

Facebook Marketplace is becoming the same way. They will throw a stupid price on a car just to get you to read their add. Always read the fine print.

The cl***ic scammer response to my inquiry...

"Hi, this is Anna! Thanks for contacting and glad to see you're interested. It’s in great condition as you can see, has no issues mechanically, electrically or any other to be noted. No accidents, no rust or leaks, straight body. It was my husband's baby "Life is too short to drive a boring vehicle" he always said, but he p***ed away earlier this year and being in a difficult situation I'm forced to sell it. Also, I recently moved to my late parents' house in Nebraska cause I had a thyroidectomy and need rest managing the recovery. Considering the cir***stances, I made arrangements with a shipping company to help me with payment and delivery as I'm unable to. It's already in their possession all prepped & ready for delivery which is free. Price is $12,200 no other fees involved.

For more details please reply with your name, phone, zip & address so I can provide it to the shipping guys and they will contact you in the morning, so you'll be able to talk to them directly. They will also provide the legal contract between me and them to show authenticity & delivery are guaranteed.

I look forward to your reply soon and I sincerely appreciate in advance your patience!

    Thanks and God bless you!"

Marketplace had a big issue with scams for underpriced cars, so they added an algorithm that wouldn't let you post your car for sale at a price that was too far out of KBB value. But that causes a big issue if you're selling a late model car that's wrecked or needs repair, or in the case of antique cars, rough projects or super high end restoration/customs whose prices fall far out of the KBB window.

It helps weed out the con artists but it makes it a lot tougher on the honest sellers.

So you see a lot of wrong prices listed on Marketplace with the correct, but much different, price in the ad, or a lot of $12,345 from people who want you to "make offers" because they have to put something for a price.

There's also a lot of auto-generated "features" and model names that are wrong but Facebook only offers so many choices.

Well, because you guys are slow off the mark, I'm gonna buy it. I always wanted a 32.

  12. Ran into the same thing a few days ago. Red flags once connected to seller...”third party to handle funds while car ships”, wouldn’t send additional photos or video of car running and seller was overseas with work. Be careful. I politely walked away.
