Is there some kind of spring to ***ist in opening the glove box door? I have to push the ****on and use a fingernail behind the door to get it to open. Seems like something must be missing or maybe out of adjustment on mine.
I'm ***uming you're asking about the one in your Ford truck? It should just pop open from the ****on latching mechanism and it's own weight. The ****on latch and the hinges may need a good lubing.
Apologies, vehicle in question is a 53 Customline My old f100 didn't have a glovebox latch at all, just a pull knob
Same on my '56. Again the ****on and hinges might need a little lube. I forgot my '63 F100 was like yours.
There should be a tab at the hinge that pushes the door outwards. Mine was a pain to open too so I bent that tab outwards and cleaned and lubed the latch ***embly. Works great now. Glovebox Tab by !!!RIOT!!! posted Apr 22, 2021 at 8:52 PM
My 56 has 2 pointed rubber stops that compress slightly and ***ist in opening when I push the ****on.
Thanks, you solved the mystery. I can clearly see where that tab used to be on my '53. Looks like it snapped off sometime in the last 68 years.
