Ok guys, but what am I doing wrong here? New tank and filler neck (Tanks Inc). Fenders are original. With the fender bolted up , the neck does not line up or come close when the cap is sticking out where I think it should (picture) I can get the neck to fit the tank, but it sticks out of the fender a couple of inches. I can’t imagine that is right. Any advice? Thanks!
Had the same trouble when I did mine years ago with new tank and neck Cut it to fit like I wanted it to fit and re welded.None of the aftermarket parts seem to fit like it is suppose to.Mine came from Drake and the tank didn't fit like it was suppose to either
Mine ( B Drake) fit as shown in your picture and is in my humble opinion is the correct amount of protrusion through the fender, but also lined up without needing alteration at the fuel tank. Looks like some fabrication will be required for yours though.
Looks like you have a rock guard installed behind that fuel filler. Did you build that or buy it? I am considering installing some on my 39 project. Sometimes I wonder if they will just bounce the rocks around farther forward though.
My filler pipe and tank are original Henry Ford and the pipe sticks out of the fender the same amount as yours.
