A truck at work has a set on the rear. Back tire is huge in my opinion.

I wonder if the vendor receives “x” amount of orders they will run them? I think it’s odd to accept orders on something discontinued

It's especially odd to accept orders when the maker (IIRC) has stated he won't be making more.

The Summit pages for those wheels say "not available" on them now. No promises of delivery date at all.

I thought that was one really weird looking car, then thankfully realized it is two.

  9. I built the 32 so I would have something to put the wheels on. That and the quicky underneath.

Does anyone know where I can get the lug nuts for these wheels?

Sure wish someone would start making these again...

  17. I agree. They make literally thousands of butt ugly wheels for everything else, so why not make some of these classic wheels?

....especially since the moulds and tooling should still exist, they were reproduced just a few years ago.
And there seems to be a ready market for them.

I have talked with the manufacturer and they made a short run of the wheels in 18" X 4-1/2" and 18" x 5-1/2". After that, they sold out and the molds were destroyed.

  20. I've never understood why anyone would destroy the molds for a viable product that sells. Why not sell them at a reasonable price instead to someone that would use them, and collect a royalty on what was sells?

If molds were created once, they can be again. Just need someone with knowledge and connections (and maybe some money) to step up and do it.

  22. Yes, anything can be done with time and money. My point is, why destroy a viable and valuable mold? Starting from scratch just drives up the cost and makes it less likely a low production wheel like this will ever be made again at a reasonable price, especially if it's made here.
